Police: Inmate who attacked corrections officer identified

Authorities have identified Anthony Caroppoli as the suspect who allegedly attacked an Ulster County corrections officer.
According to detectives, Caroppoli exited his cell on Aug. 20 and attempted to stab the officer with a sharp piece of wood.
The injured officer was hospitalized in Kingston. Caroppoli was arraigned in Ulster County Court and is being held in the Ulster County Jail pending his next court appearance.
