Spring Valley police are investigating a stabbing near Memorial Park.
Police taped off Veterans Drive near the Town of Ramapo Community Center while they investigated.
Officials say a 40-year-old man was stabbed and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say they got a call around 6:20 p.m., and that there was some sort of fight that led to the stabbing.
Gregor Gerhold says he rushed over to help, keeping his hand in the man's chest.
"He had a hole. Someone stabbed him good," he says.
