Police say a Laundromat employee was arrested after he exposed himself to a young child last week.
Authorities say 45-year-old Jaime Diaz opened his pants in front of a 2-year-old girl inside the D-Star Laundromat, which is at 951 Leggett Ave. According to the Bronx district attorney's office, Diaz "intentionally exposed the private and intimate parts of his body in a lewd matter." Investigators confiscated surveillance videos from the Laundromat.
Witnesses say investigators spoke with Diaz for about 30 minutes Saturday before handcuffing him and taking him away in a police car. Police say Diaz has a lengthy criminal history and has spent time in prison for drug dealing, robbery and assault.
The owner of the Laundromat says he was unaware of Diaz's criminal rap sheet and fired him over the weekend. Diaz has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, public lewdness and exposure of a person. He is due in court Friday.
