Police are investigating a possible link between two home invasions in New City.The first break-in happened last Thursday on Strathmore Drive. Police say a man broke through a screen door and stole the victim?s pocketbook and some jewelry. Then early Saturday morning a second suspect broke through a screen window on Rolling Ridge Road, stealing $200.

Investigators say the break-ins may be part of a gang initiation, but are still looking for evidence to support the theory. No one was injured during the invasions.
