Police: Man killed in Hopatcong house fire; 2 firefighters injured

First responders arrived to find the house already "fully engulfed in flames with heavy smoke conditions," the borough police department said in a Facebook post.

A 64-year-old man was found dead following a house fire in Hopatcong, authorities said.
Police identified the victim as Robert Powers.
Hopatcong's 911 dispatch center received a report of a structure fire on Lakeside Avenue early Monday morning. First responders arrived to find the house already "fully engulfed in flames with heavy smoke conditions," the borough police department said in a Facebook post.
Two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation at a hospital and have since been released.
Authorities have not yet said what sparked the fire.
