Police: Manhattan man arrested for abusing girlfriend in Rockland County

Luis Sanchez, 38, of Manhattan, was arrested and charged with assault and obstruction of governmental administration after allegedly abusing his girlfriend in a parking lot on North Liberty Drive in Stony Point.

Luis Sanchez, 38, of Manhattan, was arrested and charged with assault and obstruction of governmental administration after allegedly abusing his girlfriend in a parking lot on North Liberty Drive in Stony Point.
On August 4, around 7:30 p.m., Sanchez reportedly placed his girlfriend in a headlock and struck her. A passerby attempted to intervene, but Sanchez tried to run them over with his car.
The passerby defended themselves with a baseball bat, damaging the car's windshield.
Sanchez was arraigned at the Stony Point Justice Court and is being held at the Rockland County Jail, with a court date set for August 27.
