Hit-and-run crash injures 2 police officers in Poughkeepsie

Both officers were transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries. They are unable to return to work.

Two police officers were injured in a hit-and-run crash that occurred around 10 p.m. on Sunday in the City of Poughkeepsie at the intersection of Main and Church streets.
According to police, the incident took place on the 600 block of Main Street while officers were conducting a vehicle traffic stop.
The suspect’s vehicle, identified as a 2007 Lexus, initially pulled into a parking space but then reversed into marked police vehicles. Subsequently, the Lexus rammed into the passenger's side of one police vehicle, causing it to strike an officer. Another officer was also struck by the vehicle because of the driver's actions.
Following the collision, the Lexus fled the area and was later located unoccupied.
Both officers were transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries. They are unable to return to work.
The search for the suspects involved in the hit-and-run is ongoing.
