Police: Poughkeepsie shooting suspect charged with attempted murder

Investigators at the scene say they found shell casings and gunshot damage to an occupied home.

A man arrested for a shooting incident Friday in Poughkeepsie has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses, according to police.

Officers were called to the scene near Flannery Avenue and the Westbound Arterial around 8 p.m.

Investigators say they found shell casings and gunshot damage to an occupied home.

Police went on to arrest 39-year-old David Smith-Daye on the 500 block of Main Street.

In addition to attempted murder, he is charged with strangulation and reckless endangerment.
