Officials say the incident occurred on Brook Street and Horton Avenue.
They say it happened around 6 p.m.
Police say they did a 3-D scan of the scene that allows them to take a look at the forensic evidence.
It's not yet clear who was involved in the shooting or how it started.
A neighbor on the scene told News 12 the victim was a father. Officials have not confirmed any information yet.
An officer told News 12 that shootings in the area are unusual.
