As police search for a man accused of raping two women in Port Morris, some residents are working to get better security in their buildings.
Police say the suspect attacks his victims at gunpoint as they exit an elevator. According to police, the man then takes his victims into a stairwell, robs and rapes them. The two Port Morris attacks happened within a month on East 152nd Street and Saint Ann?s Avenue.
Many residents say they are worried about their safety with the suspect on the loose. One victim blames the lack of security in her building for the attack. Some residents are working with the Bronx Coalition for a Better Bronx to make buildings safer.
