Police seek possible witness to mall sex assault
Police are searching for a possible witness to the sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl in a Palisades Center Mall bathroom.
The girl told her father that she was molested in the AMC Loews Theater restroom at 2:30 p.m. on New Year's Day. Surveillance video shows a man in orange sweatpants leaving the bathroom moments after the attack.
The video also shows a woman in a red sweater standing outside of the bathroom at the time of the assault. Police say they don't believe she was involved in the attack, but they hope she may shed light on the incident.
A $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect is being offered by New York State Crime Stoppers. They can be contacted at 866-313-TIPS.
