Police: Shot fired accidentally by officer responding to call of person with knife in Yonkers

Authorities responded to the area of Central Park Avenue between the Will Library and TD Bank for a report of a male brandishing a knife.

Police say a shot was accidentally fired by an officer while responding to a call of a person with a knife in Yonkers. 
Authorities responded to the area of Central Park Avenue between the Will Library and TD Bank for a report of a male brandishing a knife. 
Police say the officer accidentally discharged his firearm inside his police vehicle. They say no one was hurt, and the incident was confined to the car.  
The 15-year-old male was placed into custody without further incident.
