Arrest made in shooting of man in front of 2 kids, suspect considered ‘high-risk threat’ to public

Police say he is a high-risk threat to the public and has a lengthy track record of arrests.

A suspect was arrested in the shooting of a man in front of two children on a Bronx street.
The NYPD says the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Michael Lopez,  is a gang member who had a gun while on parole. 
Lopez is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment of a child. 
Police say he is a high-risk threat to the public and has a lengthy track record of arrests. 
He has been arrested five times, including once for attempted murder, according to police. 
The shots fired on Sheridan Avenue in Mount Eden were inches away from the young brother and sister.
Video of the shooting shows the gunman get off a scooter and chase 24-year-old Hassan Wright, who knocks over the two children while running.
The kids, who had been buying candy at a bodega, were not hurt.
