Police warn elderly to beware of Bronx mugger

Detectives with the 42nd Precinct are warning elderly Bronx women to beware of a mugger who has struck four times in three days. According to police, the man attacks the women around residential locations.

Detectives with the 42nd Precinct are warning elderly Bronx women to beware of a mugger who has struck four times in three days.
According to police, the man attacks the women around residential locations. He has threatened some with a screwdriver and has hit others before fleeing with their money.
Police say the first incident occurred Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. in the elevator of 825 E. 170th St. The suspect demanded money then punched the victim in her face.
Two incidents occurred Nov. 9. Police say the first attack happened around 2 a.m. when the mugger struggled with a woman in front of a Forest Avenue home, where he fled with her purse. The second attack occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the lobby of 1683 Boston Rd. According to police, the man followed the woman, threatened her with a screwdriver, kicked her and got away with her purse.
The last mugging occurred Nov. 10 at 9:40 a.m. in the elevator of 1358 Washington Ave.
Anyone with information about the rampage is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
