A possible fatal incident involving a garbage truck is unfolding in Union City this morning.

The scene is centered on Union City Turnpike near JFK Boulevard.

A large police and emergency response remains in the area.

News 12 crews at the scene observed what appeared to be a body covered by a sheet underneath a garbage truck along with an e-bike.

The garbage truck is labeled, “Rivoca” Which is a commercial waste and recycling company with a sorting center in Clifton.

Officials have not confirmed a fatality or released details about exactly what happened.

Part of Union City Turnpike near 37th Street remains closed as authorities continue their work.

Investigators were seen speaking with people in the area while police maintained a perimeter around the scene.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has not yet released additional information.
