A moving display in Dutchess County is honoring families impacted by drug overdoses.
In front of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Poughkeepsie stands 110 flags to represent the lives lost to drug overdoses in Dutchess County -- in 2020 alone.
Flags are also set aside for those who want to pay tribute to the loved ones they've lost.
The church hopes the dedication motivates everyone who sees it.
"This is a call to action, that we see this, and we don't just let it be, that it just dissipates after we drive by or after we walk by. That this lodges itself in our hearts and we say we can't let this continue. We need to find ways to make a difference," Rev. Heather Moody of First Congregational Church said.
The flags will remain through Aug. 31, which is International Overdose Awareness Day.
