State court officers in Poughkeepsie held a ceremony today to remember three of their own who died responding to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Captain Harry Thompson, Tony Jurgens, and Mitch Wallace were honored for their bravery.
The three court officers were at the Supreme Court on Centre Street when the attack started and voluntarily responded to the scene.
Capt. John Beck, who trained under Thompson, praised their selfless actions.
"They went to where the danger was. Simple as that," Beck said. "It's just a testament to the type of people they are: always running into danger, never hesitating."
