A father has been sentenced to prison in connection with the death of his 16-month-old daughter in Poughkeepsie.
Haitham Dasan, 49, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison for criminally negligent homicide.
Dasan pleaded guilty after his daughter died from fentanyl exposure.
Dasan touched a straw with fentanyl residue on it and then prepared food for the child, prosecutors said.
The toddler later died from that exposure.
