Powerful overnight storms caused a partial building collapse at a Milford business and left a trail of damage across Milford and Orange early Thursday morning.
The first emergency call came in around 2:30 a.m.
Officials say high winds apparently caused extensive damage throughout the area.
Part of the Bead Electronics building on Cascade Boulevard collapsed during the storm. Authorities say the building was unoccupied at the time.
Authorities also reported multiple utility poles snapped in half on Marsh Hill Road. Dozens of trees were also damaged along Marsh Hill Road, Executive Boulevard and Cascade Boulevard in Orange and Milford.
Similar storm damage was reported in nearby Milford and West Haven neighborhoods bordering the affected area.
First responders also responded to 11 residential buildings where trees had fallen onto homes. Most of those calls were in the Woodruff Road area.
Several vehicles were also damaged by falling trees.
Officials say no injuries were reported despite the widespread damage. Cleanup efforts are underway, but officials say it could take much of the day before conditions return to normal.
The Orange Volunteer Fire Department has closed Marsh Hill Road between Executive Boulevard and the Milford town line because of downed trees and utility poles.
Several nearby roads remain closed as crews clear debris and make repairs.
Drivers are being urged to use caution and expect delays throughout the area.
