Proposed rate hikes for Central Hudson will go before a judge today.

Central Hudson filed a request back in July to raise electric rates by 16% and natural gas rates by 19%.

However, some local lawmakers pointed out that Central Hudson's parent company reported profits well over a billion dollars in 2022.

The company has also faced backlash for ongoing billing issues in recent months and calls for their CEO to resign.
