A self-employed school psychologist is under investigation for allegedly submitting false invoices to be paid for Bronx students he never counseled.
Investigators say Edgar LaLuz conned the Department of Education (DOE) out of more than $10,000. The DOE was tipped off when LaLuz submitted invoices for the same date for a high number of students whom he could not have seen in one day. According to officials, LaLuz even falsified reports for students he never met.
Investigators have turned over the case to the Bronx district attorney for action.
