A police pursuit of a stolen
car on I-684 and I-84 this past weekend resulted in the arrest of three
Connecticut residents and the recovery of a gun, according to police.
New York State Police say
Saturday morning officers tried to stop the 2016 Acura TL on I-684 in Bedford.
The driver led police on a chase to Exit 9E for I-84,
where police were able to stop them with a spike strip. The people in the car jumped out and tried to get away on foot.
Not for long though. Police say the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and their
bloodhound helped capture all three of them. One of the suspects was
found with an illegal gun.
Police say Josiah Eleby, 19, Ervin Barr, 21, and
Shadeed Turner, 20, all of Waterbury, Connecticut, are facing numerous charges. Turner was
issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Southeast Court on Oct.
4. Barr and Eleby were both arraigned before the town of Southeast Court.
Barr was released on his own recognizance. Eleby was remanded to the
Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. Both are
scheduled to reappear before the court on Oct. 11.
