Putnam County drivers may see some changes to their morning commute as the northbound Taconic State Parkway is reduced to one lane.

The reduction, occurring in the Town of Kent at State Route 301, is due to ongoing construction work. The closure began yesterday and will continue until Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Drivers are reminded by the Department of Transportation (DOT) that fines for speeding within work zones are doubled. Exercise caution, slow down, and proceed carefully during this period.
