A Putnam County man, Mark Kuhn of Patterson, has admitted to illegally trapping squirrels on his property and abusing them.

Police from the SPCA unit report that Kuhn allegedly spray-painted the squirrels in metal cages and released them at another location.

Kuhn faces charges for poisoning or attempting to poison animals.

The 62-year-old was already on probation for another unrelated crime.
