A Putnam County man has been charged with murdering his father.
State police say they responded Sunday to a home on River Road in the Town of Patterson where they arrested James Cherry III.
The 33-year-old is accused of bludgeoning his 56-year-old father, James Jr., to death.
Cherry III was arraigned in Patterson Town Court and sent to the County Jail without bail.
