Putnam Valley family seeks help to purchase specially equipped van for daughter hurt in 2022 crash

A Putnam Valley family needs the community's help so that they can purchase a specially equipped van for their daughter who is still recovering from a car crash a year later.
On Sept. 27, 2022, 16-year-old Emily Quinn, her sister Caitlin, and their friend, the vehicle's 19-year-old driver, were involved in an accident in which they were hit head on by an inebriated driver.
Caitlin is still recovering and scheduled to undergo her seventh surgery.
The accident left Emily, who once ranked one of the top seven gymnasts in New York state, with a traumatic brain injury, unable to speak and dependent on wheelchair for mobility.
Their mother, Melissa Quinn, says helping them recover has been the hardest experience in their lifetime.
The girls' father, Bobby Quinn, says they have received emotional support and well-wishes from around the world, even as far as Australia. He adds that the power of prayer is helping them throughout as well.
With mounting medical bills and frequent doctor's appointments, Melissa Quinn says they need a wheelchair accessible van to take Emily to appointments and to get her acclimated back into the community.
If you would like to help the Quinn family in their goal to purchase a wheelchair accessible van, you can donate at their GoFundMe page.
