We could have spotty showers into the afternoon for our Friday, but the next decent rain chance happens overnight Friday into early Saturday.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- We could see some showers on Sunday ahead of our next system we are tracking Sunday night into Monday. This system moves in very late Sunday to early Monday and will bring with it some drenching showers and the opportunity for some thunder and lightning. We will keep an eye on this as it gets closer.
- Until then, the main story is dreamy temperatures. High temperatures skyrocket into Saturday, with highs in the 70s! We have a forecast high of 77 degrees for Saturday which is only a couple degrees below the record. Partly sunny with a rogue shower chance, but overall going to be an EXCELLENT outdoor day. The second half of the weekend will return to the lower 60s. Low temperatures will continue to work their way into a comfortable category as well. Friday night will bring us lows in the higher 40s, then the weekend will feature low temperatures in the lower 50s. A big change happens on Monday with highs nearing 70 and lows crashing into the higher 30s.
- We have an elevated fire risk throughout the rest of our Thursday due to low humidity and gusts in the 20 mph range. Burning should be avoided as fires, if started, will easily spread.
- Saturday morning (very early) brings us a partial solar eclipse! For the Hudson Valley, we are in an area that will only see a 20-30% eclipse. Not nearly as exciting as last year's. There may be some breaks in the clouds post rain, but we could also see those clouds hanging on and impacting what little view we have.
