A rally in support of Gazan freedom was held in downtown White Plains Thursday.
Members of a group supporting the rights of Palestinians say they are upset over the last week and a half of airstrikes from Israel on Gaza.
They say innocent people have been killed and lives have been destroyed during the conflict.
Israel has maintained it has the right to protect its people and borders over the course of the clash.
News 12 spoke with Danny Schultz, of the Westchester Jewish Council, for his perspective.
"Zionism as the belief in the homeland of the Jewish people is a core tenant of our religion," says Schultz.
"The people of Westchester are becoming aware of the occupation there and the apartheid state," says Harry Soloway, who is rallying for Palestinians.
The group marched from Renaissance Plaza to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. statue outside the county courthouse.
Israel announced a cease-fire on Thursday. The agreement comes after heavy pressure from the U.S. to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.
