So if you look across industries school and employee bus transportation that's up 16% year over year. Home and health care services 13.5% plus there, community food housing relief jobs those are up about 11.2% and then services for the elderly and persons with disabilities up about 9% year over year."

When it comes to paychecks, Silver says wage growth actually outpaced inflation in New York.

In terms of where paychecks are getting a boost he says, "if you are looking for the strongest wage growth, that's been in professional a business services, your lawyers and your accountants that's up about 7%, the average pay there close to around $50 an hour."
