Now that the eclipse has passed, the city of Beacon is encouraging people to recycle their eclipse glasses.

Astronomers Without Borders is collecting gently-used glasses to send to underserved communities and schools internationally for future solar eclipses.

You can drop off your glasses at the Beacon Recreation Center located at 23 West Center Street. A collection box will be placed on the front porch for easy drop-off.

Additionally, you can return your glasses at the Chappaqua Library. These glasses will be sent to Latin America for kids to use during an eclipse in August.
