Red Cross relief money is going back out to people in Westchester County affected by Ida after a delay earlier this week.
Red Cross officials tell News 12 they had to pause giving out relief checks to Westchester residents after recognizing an error with its disaster assessment reports.
They say volunteers assessed damage across the county using the criteria for fires instead of flooding, which caused damage levels to be twice as high as expected.
Red Cross officials wouldn't say how long the payment system was offline but say everything is running now - and people impacted by the storm should expect to receive money in the coming days.
Officials add that Red Cross damage assessments are not tied to FEMA relief money and those impacted should apply for that separately.
