A relative of those killed in the Bronx River Parkway crash Sunday is speaking out.
Dexter Gardiner says he lost his twin brother and his niece in the accident. Gardiner says speed was not a factor in the crash and that the deadly chain of events began with a falling light pole. According to a cab driver involved in the crash, he swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid a falling light pole. Five people were killed in the accident and two people are still in critical condition.
Meanwhile, residents say the stretch of road where the crash occurred is dangerous. Many say a hill makes it difficult to see and the pavement is in poor condition.
