Family and Friends gathered in Yorktown Saturday for a heartfelt tribute to rename a local park in honor of former Yorktown supervisor Tom Diana.
The Granite Knolls Recreation and Sports Complex on Stony Street was re-named Tom Diana Park. A portion of East Main Street was renamed Supervisor Tom Diana Memorial Highway.
A town spokesman told News 12 on Jan. 4 that Diana had an apparent heart attack at his residence and was pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian-Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor. His death came just four days after he was sworn in to his first full term.
