Republican Rep. Mike Lawler won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing New York's 17th district on Wednesday.
Lawler is one of several Republicans who flipped traditionally Democratic New York districts in 2022.
The 17th District includes Rockland, Putnam, most of northern Westchester, and parts of southern Dutchess counties.
He defeated former Democratic Rep. Mondaire Jones, who lost his seat after redistricting in 2022. The Associated Press declared Lawler the winner at 5:30 a.m. EST. Jones sent a statement this morning congratulating Rep. Mike Lawler in his reelection.
News 12's Tara Rosenblum was live at the campaign headquarters for Mike Lawler.
Jonathan Gordon was live in Nanuet covering the Jones campaign.
