The Village of Florida is now being sued for opening a road to traffic that was previously used for emergency-access only.
As News 12 reported earlier this month, several residents are voicing concerns with the mayor’s decision to open Farries Avenue to daily traffic from Glenview Hills because of safety and other quality-of-life concerns.
Two of them are now suing the village for allegedly violating the planning board’s original approval plan for the road.
Mayor Dan Harter previously told News12 he opened the road to improve emergency access and maintenance but has not responded to requests for comment about the lawsuit.
