Controversy continues to swirl around a Black Lives Matter mural in Greenburgh.

Many in the community are outraged about the inclusion of an image of Louis Farrakhan in the mural - a polarizing figure who organized the Million Man March on Washington in 1995.

He has also made numerous controversial statements against Jews and the LGBTQ+ community.

The town board has decided to paint over the image of Farrakhan as he was not part of the authorized sketch.

However, some residents say this is about justice to the Black community to tell their own history, regardless of who it may offend. "Louis Farrakhan is a part of Black history. He is greatly admired by the Black liberation and equality movement. No one who admires his work admires his rhetoric. His image is important to our history," says one concerned Greenburgh resident.

Many of the artists were also upset because they had not been paid, but last night, officials agreed to pay the artists who worked on the mural.
