Some residents affected by the maintenance worker strike say their patience is growing thin as garbage continues to pile up.

Porters, handymen and doormen, all members of the 32 BJ union, have been on strike since earlier this week. They are calling for a three-year contract with a pay hike and changes to pension and health care benefits.

Residents at the Concourse Village co-op, one of six buildings affected by the strike, have mixed feelings about the strike. Some are angry that the garbage is piling up while some say they really don't mind. Some residents are also worried that if the workers get what they want then they will see a rent increase. Others say they are willing to pay more if it means the workers will come back on the job.

The workers say they want to be providing services but are unhappy with how they have been treated by management.
