Retired flight attendant retraces path to Ground Zero in memory of lost colleagues

A retired flight attendant is once again honoring the flight crews lost on Sept. 11 by pushing an airline beverage cart along the paths of the hijacked planes.
Paul Veneto, founder of “Paulie’s Push,” lost friends and colleagues in the attacks and has spent years keeping their memories alive through the unique tribute.
This year, Veneto is joined by several additional beverage carts, allowing members of the community to take part in the journey.
The tribute made a stop in Port Chester on Monday as Veneto traveled from Boston toward Lower Manhattan.
Veneto said the journey is driven by a commitment to remember those who were killed.
“I knew what I had to do. It’s not a big deal for me to push this cart,” Veneto said. “Once I start, I know I’m going to Ground Zero.”
Paulie’s Push is scheduled to conclude Friday at Ground Zero.
