Rhinebeck man arrested for impersonating police officer and pointing gun at drivers

Mitchell Stern, 58, of Rhinebeck, was arrested on Friday for allegedly posing as a police officer and pointing a gun at people.

A driver flagged down a trooper in Queens, reporting that they were being chased by a man who pointed a gun at them. When Stern was pulled over, he falsely claimed to be a member of the state police.

Stern is facing charges of weapon possession and impersonating an officer.
