A ribbon-cutting was held at a new housing development in Peekskill.
The development at 645 Main has 82 affordable apartments, and comes with a variety of amenities, like a community center, laundry room, gym and plenty of places to park.
It also was designed to meet the requirement of the state's Energy Research and
Development Authority's Low-rise Residential New Construction program.
A spokesperson from the building says they are using a lottery system to fill the units. They estimate that around 2,000 people applied.
