Rockland County's controversial 2015 budget proposal heads to the floor of the county legislature for a vote tonight.
On the table is a plan that would keep Rockland County Executive Ed Day's proposed 2015 tax increase under the state's 2 percent cap. Most of the controversial planned cuts to the Rockland Sheriff's Office and local nonprofits like the Legal Aid Society would also be nixed.
Day says he's throwing his weight behind a second budget proposal by County Legislator Chris Carey that would cut the deficit by $7 million, rather than $5 million, in 2015.
