The family of a 44-year-old New York City firefighter is in mourning Monday.
Michael Loughran, a Pearl River native, was pronounced dead at the scene after his sports utility vehicle went off the road and crashed into a utility pole in upstate New York. Police say the accident happened Sunday morning in the town of Kinderhook.
Loughran was also a 13-year veteran of Engine Company 43 in the Bronx. His funeral is scheduled for Thursday morning.
