Rockland County is upset about MTA's congestion pricing plan.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, MTA officials, and other leaders met in New York City Tuesday to tout the first-in-the-nation plan expected to start next year.

The plan is to have drivers pay to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day is also upset about this plan and says Rockland residents face the highest level of "transit inequity" in the MTA region.

Day says more than 60% of commuters drive into the city because there isn’t an easy MTA option.

He went on to say Gov. Hochul is not giving Rockland County much consideration when it comes to plan, and he is calling for an exemption from the tolls because of their $40 million 'value gap' with the MTA.

The congestion pricing plan is expected to start in 2024.
