Rockland County Executive Ed Day and his fiancé Donna Pacucci are getting ready to tie the knot but their wedding registry is raising some eyebrows.
The couple is registered at HoneyFund.com. On the registry it says the couple is planning to honeymoon in Grenada and explains that they don't want gifts since they have homes filled with what they need. Instead, they want cash to go towards their honeymoon.
The wish list includes options to gift honeymoon toasts for $350, $200 towards a travel fund and $500 towards their stay at the resort on the island.
The non-traditional twist gained some mixed reactions from residents.
"Then don't do it, don't depend on people to pay for your honeymoon," says Rosa Rosado, of Rockland County.
News 12 also spoke to some residents who didn't want to go on camera. They say they don't see a problem with the list at all.
The county executive's office released a statement that said in part, "To focus on my wedding to Ms. Pascucci while billion-dollar political deals are being made by elected officials and their families at the state and federal level is simply outrageous. I want to reiterate to all that while we have invited many friends from our professional lives to our wedding, this is no different than what any other person would do when getting married."
