Crews in Rockland County worked Friday preparing for another storm.
News 12's Diane Caruso was in Suffern and saw public works crews clearing debris from catch basins on Memorial Drive, which tends to flood from rain.

News 12 spoke with Suffern Mayor Michael Curley at the baseball fields that are also flood- prone. No homes are impacted when these areas flood, but the closures make it difficult to get around.

The mayor points to Suffern’s location between both the Ramapo and Mahwah rivers, as well as more development, as reasons for the water.

"These water areas not having their natural places to go, it had to go somewhere,” said Curley. “Water will seek its level. It always has and always will."

Suffern maintains more than 50 catch basins.
