Rockland Lake fire chief charged with DWI

Clarkstown police say 49-year-old Chris Ryan was driving on Grandview Avenue in Nanuet when he struck a utility pole and a rock.

The chief of the Rockland Lake Fire Department has been charged with DWI following an accident over the weekend.
Clarkstown police say 49-year-old Chris Ryan was driving on Grandview Avenue in Nanuet when he struck a utility pole and a rock around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Ryan, who has been with the department for more than 30 years, was not injured.
Ryan was released after being processed on the misdemeanor charge.
News 12 reached out to the fire department for comment but has not heard back.
