Residents in Rockland are paying tribute to fallen heroes as part of a national weeklong event.
"Carry the Load," a nonprofit organization, began with a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day. The organization now travels to dozens of states leading up to the holiday.
As part of the event in our region, participants took part in a 1-mile walk from Old Haverstraw Road to Congers Station. The objective is to raise funds for first responders, veterans, and their families.
