Police still had a portion of Route 59 closed in Rockland County for an investigation late Wednesday evening.

Police were at the scene just before 6 p.m. to investigate a serious crash.

Ramapo police say Route 59 in Hillburn, from the Village of Suffern border to the Fourth Street Bridge, was closed due to the crash investigation.

Those approaching the crash from Hillburn had to take the bridge, and those on the Suffern side were redirected through local roads.

Police did not say how many cars were involved, the nature of the incident or if any people were injured.
