SAT canceled at Chappaqua high school
Dozens of students who arrived Saturday morning at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua to take the SAT were turned away, raising concerns about a swine flu outbreak.
Parents and students were later relieved to learn that a virus was not to blame for the cancellation of the test. According to the Education Testing Service and the College Board, which sponsor the SATs, the test was canceled due to circumstances beyond their control. However, a student at the school said he was told the tests were lost or misplaced.
"I was a little frustrated, especially because I had been preparing, and the fact that I had to wake up early for no reason [is] kind of upsetting," says Taylor Ekstrom.
Some students say since the test has been rescheduled for June 6, they will use the extra time to study some more.
The ETS declined to comment on the claim that the test forms went missing.
