Saugerties mom accused of abducting, hiding daughter in 2022 reaches deal with DA's office

Kimberly Shultis, 34, was charged in February 2022 with child endangerment after then-6-year-old Paislee was found alive in the family's home.

A Saugerties mother accused of abducting and hiding her own daughter after losing custody has reached a deal with the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.
Kimberly Shultis, 34, was charged in February 2022 with child endangerment after then-6-year-old Paislee was found alive in the family's home.
The attorney for Shultis says under the agreement announced in town court Wednesday, charges against Kimberly Shultis will be dismissed if she stays out of trouble for one year.
In a statement, the attorney says original reports that there was a secret room under the stairs or a secret apartment with crawl spaces were not true.
Despite the attorney's statement about the crawlspace, photos of the secret staircase compartment were released by police and widely publicized.
 
Shultis currently has custody of Paislee.
Paislee's father and grandfather were also charged in the case.
Her grandfather will be back in court next month. The father's case was transferred to Ulster County Court after he was charged in several area burglaries.
